I Have Stretch Marks Above My Belly Button

How Do You Remove Stretch Marks David Reath Knoxville Plastic Surgeon

Hi everybody. I'm David Reath, and I'mgoing to talk about this week's TruthOMeter Tuesday question. The question we asked this week was basically a request from many of you from our previousweek. We asked about things that you wanted to knowabout, and one of the top things was stretch marks. So our question was this, quot; The only truly effective way to treat stretch marks is bysurgically removing the skin that contains the streth marks.quot;I would like to tell you that that was a quot;falsequot; or sort of a toss of a coin, but the factof the matter is, that's true.

The problem is this: stretch marks are reallyscars. And there's no way to eliminate a scar totally either than to remove the skin thatcontains the scar. People have tried different creams, peoplehave tried different salves, people hvae tried laser. None of these things really work onstretch marks. They're still there, and quite honestly I think the results for most of thesethings are not worth what you're going to pay for them. Now it is true that as time goes on stretch marks may fade a little bit, as do scars. But they won't go away unless you remove the skin that contains the scars. So I'm sorry to tell you all that the answer

to that is true. Most of you already knowthis, and got it right. So let's find out who won this week.Britney Phillips. Britney, congratulations, you're this week's winner. You get a $100 gift card, come on into the office. Pick that up. We'd love to see you.I thank everybody for playing this week, we had a great number of responses, and we'regoing to try to come up with a really good, interesting questionfor you again next week. So, see you then.

Hi, this is Hourglass, and welcome toanother tutorial in our channel Superhourglass. Today we are going to discuss the stretchmarks after a tummy tuck. In this channel, we will discuss everything you need to know for you to get the hourglass shape you've always wanted. Welcome back. One of the reasons patients come to the to have a tummy tuck is because they want to have all the stretch marks removed caused by pregnancy. While it is theoretically possible for a tummytuck to remove all your stretch marks,

there is no guarantee. This does not occur in every single patientso you need to understand why. Just by examining your abdomen, your surgeonwill be able to determine if you are going to have stretch marks after the surgery or none at all. A tummy tuck procedure involves making an incision in the lower abdomen, which is done in the midline. It is important to know that only the excessskin below the belly button is removed. The surgeon cannot cut your whole abdomenbecause it will be difficult to close after surgery. Consequently, if only the skin below the bellybutton is removed,

the skin above the belly button will act as your new abdomen. Because of this, the location of your stretch marks will determine if a tummy tuck will resolve this. For example, if you have stretch marks belowthe belly button, then it will not be a problem for the surgeon to remove the excess skinin that area through a tummy tuck. However, if you have stretch marks below and above the belly button, you will still have stretch marks. As mentioned, the skin above the belly buttonwill not be touched. Nevertheless, a tummy tuck will give you atighter belly with no excess skin. Many times they come to the thinkingthat all the stretch marks will be gone,

but a careful analysis of your belly will tellme if this is going to be the case or not. I always tell my patients if the stretch markswill remain or not after surgery in order to prepare them for the final result. There is no question that a tummy tuck is capable of removing stretch marks and creating a flatter abdomen. However, it all depends on where the stretchmarks are located. Therefore, knowing this piece of information will better prepare you and manage your expectations. In this tutorial, we discussed the stretch marksafter a tummy tuck. Next week, we will discuss the mons lift witha tummy tuck.

Tummy tuck complications Houston Austin Dallas San Antonio

Hi, this is Hourglass, and welcome toanother tutorial in our channel Star Bodies. Today we are going to discuss the soft tissuerelaxation after a tummy tuck. In this channel we discuss everything youneed to know to get that star body that you want. Welcome back. It seems counterintuitive to discuss softtissue relaxation after a tummy tuck. The main reason to have a tummy tuck is tohave a tighter belly. But how tight your belly is going to look after surgery

depends on your skin tone and elasticity prior to surgery. We have discussed this in another tutorial. But you need to understand that in some particularpatients, soft tissue relaxation means the skin of your tummy gets slightly looser afterthe procedure. Typically patients that have these issuesare patients that have poor skin elasticity. For example, the patients that have stretchmarks above the bellybutton are a higher risk of having this issue. The patients that have stretch mark just below the button

most of the time, they do not develop this problem. The reason is that any skin that still has stretch marks is weak and when tension is applied to the skin, it slowly and steadily relaxes, creating small areas of soft tissue laxity after the surgery. Setting the tension before surgery is extremelyimportant, because the tighter the skin is made, particularly in those patient that will have stretch marks above the belly button, the less likely these occur. The problem is that the more skin you cut, the higher the horizontal scar your tummy tuck result will have. In other words, the more skin is removed, the higher your horizontal scar might end up. So what happens if you develop a slightlylooseness of the tummy after surgeryƩ

Well, in essence you are going to need to have a revision surgery where some of the excess skin will be removed. Understanding skin tightness and relaxationafter surgery is important for you to have realistic expectations on how your belly is going to look after surgery. If you develop soft tissue relaxation, it does not mean that the surgeon did not cut enough skin. It means that your skin tone is poor in somecases and relaxation of the skin is just a normal process of the healing after a tummy tuck. In this tutorial, we have discussed the softtissue relaxation after a tummy tuck.

In the next tutorial, we will discuss obesityand tummy tuck complications.
